Offshore Medical Examination
Do you work on offshore wind turbines or platforms? If so, regular medical examinations are essential to ensure your safety and health.
Offshore Medical Fitness Examination
Working on offshore wind turbines and substation platforms poses a major challenge for employees. The physical and mental demands are very high, making it essential to actively promote physical and mental well-being in this field of work. Medical fitness examinations are subject to strict guidelines and must be followed by everyone who works in an offshore environment.
Employees who work for more than 24 hours on an offshore platform (wind turbines, oil and gas production platforms) must undergo a medical fitness examination by a doctor. The extreme working conditions, physical strain, and dangers at sea require employees to be in perfect health. Consequently, offshore medical fitness examinations are mandatory every two years and serve to ensure the safety of the employee.
What types of offshore qualifications are there?
Work on wind turbines in Germany and the Netherlands requires compliance with the AWMF guideline. For international assignments, the OeUK guideline (formerly OGUK) from the United Kingdom, the NOGEPA guideline from the Netherlands, and the OLF guideline from Norway must be observed, as these are mutually recognized under the Hadanger Agreement.
As an internationally accredited partner (registration number: OEUK/2023/3141) in accordance with OeUK regulations, we offer highly qualified, international offshore medical examinations. The OeUK policy stipulates that offshore workers must be examined regularly by a physician to ensure they are fit for their work environment. OeUK-registered physicians possess in-depth knowledge of offshore conditions and similar remote environments.
Individuals working on oil and gas production platforms or wind farms must undergo a medical examination to assess their fitness for duty. The extreme working conditions, physical demands, and hazards at sea require employees to be in excellent health.
Consequently, offshore fitness-for-duty examinations are mandatory every two years and serve to ensure the safety of the employee.
